Coming across this Mindshift blog post title, I was extremely intrigued. There is a new game called Quandary where the purpose is “helping students understand how to take a different perspective and learn how to empathize.” The game features a number of scenarios where the player is given an issue and the opportunity to interview characters to find out facts, opinions, and details. The player then categorizes these and comes up with the best possible solution. I think this game is worth looking into. With as many violent video games as there are in our world today, a game with an empathetic purpose definitely stands out. Kids love games, so playing a game that also helps them become more empathetic and better problem solvers would be extremely ideal. I am for sure going to have to look more into this.
